Hello, little friends! It is so nice to see you. Today we are going to learn a new letter. It is the letter j.

Say it with me. j. Very good!

The letter j makes a jumpy sound. It goes like this: j, j, j. Can you say it and jump at the same time? j, j, j. Great jumping!

Now let us go to the airport. An airport is a place where planes go up into the sky.

Look! Can you see a big blue plane? This is a jet. A jet is a very fast plane. Say it with me. Jet. j, j, jet! Zoom, zoom!

Now look next to the jet. Can you see a little green car with big wheels? This is a jeep. Say it with me. Jeep. j, j, jeep! Beep, beep!

Listen to what the picture tells us. A blue plane and the little green jeep standing together at the airport.

Let us say it together. A blue plane, and the little green jeep, standing together at the airport. Well done!

Can you count the wheels on the jeep? Let us count the wheels we can see on one side. One, two. Two wheels on one side!

Now let us meet some more friends that start with the letter j.

Here is a cold drink in a glass. It is orange juice. Say it with me. Juice. j, j, juice!

Here is a jar full of sweet, red strawberry jam. Say it with me. Jam. j, j, jam!

And here is something warm we wear when it is cold. It is a jacket. Say it with me. Jacket. j, j, jacket!

Let us say all our j words together. Jet. Jeep. Juice. Jam. Jacket. You are amazing!

Now it is time to write the letter j. Hold up your magic finger. Are you ready?

Put your finger in the middle, just a little way up. Now go straight down, down, down. Keep going, past the bottom line.

Now curl round to the left, like a little hook. Stop!

Now lift your finger up, up, up, and put a little dot on top. Dot!

That is the letter j. Down, curl, and a dot on top.

Let us do it again. Start in the middle. Down, down, below the line. Curl. Lift. Dot! Well done!

One more time, nice and slow. Down. Curl. Dot! You made the letter j!

When you open your book, trace the letter j from the red dot. Remember the little curly tail and the dot.

Let us remember what we learned today. Our letter is j. The letter j says j, j, j.

We saw a blue jet and a little green jeep at the airport.

We met juice, jam and a jacket.

And we wrote the letter j. Down, curl, and a dot on top.
