Hello, little friends! Are you ready to learn a new letter today? Our new letter is the letter i.

Say it with me. i. Well done!

The letter i makes a short little sound. It goes like this: i, i, i. Can you say it? i, i, i. Wonderful!

Now let us look at a snowy picture. Brrr! It is very cold here. Everything is white with snow.

Can you see a little house made of snow? That is an igloo. Say it with me. Igloo. Igloo starts with i. i, i, igloo!

Now look near the igloo. Can you see a cute little bug with wings? That is an insect. Say it with me. Insect. Insect starts with i. i, i, insect!

Listen to what the picture tells us. A cute insect is standing by an igloo in the snow.

Now let us meet some more friends that start with the letter i.

Here is a yummy, cold treat in a glass bowl. It is ice-cream. Say it with me. Ice-cream.

Here is a green animal sitting on a branch. It has a long tail. It is an iguana. Say it with me. Iguana. i, i, iguana!

And here is something that makes our clothes smooth and flat. It is an iron. Say it with me. Iron.

Ice-cream and iron start with the letter i too. In these words, the letter i says its name.

Let us say all our i words together. Igloo. Insect. Ice-cream. Iguana. Iron. You are so clever!

Now it is time to write the letter i. Hold up your magic finger. Are you ready?

Put your finger in the middle, just a little way up. Now go straight down, down, down, to the bottom. Stop!

Now lift your finger up, up, up. Put a little dot on top. Dot!

That is the letter i. A straight line down, and a dot on top.

When you open your book, trace the letter i from the red dot. Go down, lift your pencil, and add the dot.
