Revision Objectives

• Remember the letter "j" and its sound /j/
• Say the words jet, jeep, juice, jam and jacket
• Repeat the sentence "A blue plane and the little green jeep standing together at the airport."
• Trace the letter "j" correctly: down below the line, curl, then a dot

Revision Activity 1: Jump for j

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners stand in a space
• The teacher says a word. If it starts with "j" (jet, jeep, juice, jam, jacket), learners jump and say "/j/!"
• If the word does not start with "j" (for example igloo or insect from the last lesson), learners stand still
• Finish with five big jumps: "j, j, j, j, j!"

Revision Activity 2: Zoom and Drive

Time: 7 minutes

• When the teacher holds up the jet card, learners zoom around with arms out like wings and say "jet!"
• When the teacher holds up the jeep card, learners pretend to drive and say "jeep, beep beep!"
• Switch cards quickly to make it fun
• End by sitting down and saying the speech bubble together in chunks:
  • "A blue plane"
  • "and the little green jeep"
  • "standing together at the airport."

Revision Activity 3: Snack Table Words

Time: 8 minutes

• Place the picture cards juice, jam and jacket on a table (or real items if available)
• Point and ask: "What is this?" Learners say the word
• Play "What's missing?": learners close their eyes, the teacher hides one card, learners guess which one is gone
• Repeat three or four times

Revision Activity 4: Hook Tracing

Time: 7 minutes

• Draw a giant "j" in the air: "Start in the middle. Down, down, below the line. Curl like a hook. Lift. Dot!"
• Learners draw "j" on a partner's back very gently
• Trace one row of dotted "j" letters on a practice sheet with a pencil
• Praise every learner who remembers the dot

Revision Activity 5: Bubble Blow

Time: 5 minutes

• Repeat the Little Explorers activity: learners blow bubbles in the jug of water through a straw
• Before each learner blows, they say one "j" word
• Remind learners to blow out, not suck in
