Revision Objectives

• Recall the letter "f" and its sound /f/
• Name the words fish, frog, flowers, fox and fruits
• Say the sentence about the friendly frog and the little fish
• Practise tracing the letter "f"

Revision Activity 1: Frog Hops

Time: 5 minutes

• Children crouch like frogs
• The teacher holds up the "f" card; children hop and say /f/
• When the teacher holds up a different letter, children sit still

Revision Activity 2: Picture Pond

Time: 5 minutes

• Put the five picture cards on the floor like lily pads: fish, frog, flowers, fox, fruits
• Say a word; one child "hops" to the right card
• Then hold up a card and the class says the word
• Stretch the first sound: "f-f-f-fox"

Revision Activity 3: Pond Sentence

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 18 and point to the frog and the fish
• Say the sentence in parts, children echo:
  • "A friendly frog"
  • "and a little fish"
  • "are playing in the pond together."
• Children wave hello to a partner on "together"

Revision Activity 4: Air, Table, Paper

Time: 10 minutes

• Trace "f" in the air with a big arm
• Trace "f" on the table with one finger
• Trace "f" on page 19 with a pencil
• Say the stroke each time: "Over, down, and across"
• The teacher checks that each child adds the line across

Revision Activity 5: Five Fingers

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up the left hand together (Little Thinkers)
• Count the fingers: one, two, three, four, five
• Wave the fingers and blow gently: /f/ /f/ /f/
