Revision Objectives

• Recall the letter "g" and its sound /g/
• Name the words girl, guava, gate, gift and guitar
• Say the sentence "The girl is eating delicious guava"
• Practise tracing the letter "g"

Revision Activity 1: Guitar Band

Time: 5 minutes

• Children pretend to hold a guitar
• The teacher holds up the "g" card; children strum and sing /g/ /g/ /g/
• When the teacher holds up a different letter, the band stops

Revision Activity 2: Open the Gate

Time: 5 minutes

• Two children make a "gate" with their arms
• Put the five picture cards on the floor: girl, guava, gate, gift, guitar
• A child names one card correctly, and the gate opens so they can walk through
• Stretch the first sound: "g-g-g-gift"

Revision Activity 3: Guava Sentence

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 20 and point to the girl and the guava
• Say the speech bubble together: "The girl is eating delicious guava"
• Children pretend to take a big bite and rub their tummies: "Yum!"
• Repeat in a whisper voice and a big voice

Revision Activity 4: Air, Table, Paper

Time: 10 minutes

• Trace "g" in the air with a big arm
• Trace "g" on the table with one finger
• Trace "g" on page 21 with a pencil
• Say the stroke each time: "Round, up, down, and hook"
• The teacher checks each child makes the round part first

Revision Activity 5: Gift Guess

Time: 5 minutes

• Wrap a small toy in paper as a pretend gift
• Pass the gift round the circle while saying /g/ /g/ /g/
• When the teacher says "gift!", the child holding it says one "g" word from the page
