Revision Objectives

• Recall the letter "e" and its sound /e/
• Name the words eggplant, elephant and eagle
• Say the sentence "Eagle and elephant are good friends"
• Practise tracing the letter "e"

Revision Activity 1: Elephant Walk

Time: 5 minutes

• Children stand up and swing one arm like an elephant's trunk
• Each time they take a step, they say /e/
• The teacher holds up the "e" card and everyone says "e says /e/"

Revision Activity 2: Picture Card Point

Time: 5 minutes

• Place the three picture cards on the floor: eggplant, elephant, eagle
• Say a word; children point to or walk to the correct card
• Then hold up a card and children say the word
• Stretch the first sound: "e-e-e-eggplant"

Revision Activity 3: Friends Sentence

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 16 and point to the eagle and the elephant
• Say the speech bubble together: "Eagle and elephant are good friends"
• Children hug a partner on the word "friends"
• Repeat in a whisper voice and a big voice

Revision Activity 4: Air, Table, Paper

Time: 10 minutes

• Trace "e" in the air with a big arm
• Trace "e" on the table with one finger
• Trace "e" on page 17 with a pencil
• Say the stroke each time: "Across, then round and stop"
• The teacher helps any child who starts in the wrong place

Revision Activity 5: Count the e Things

Time: 5 minutes

• Look at page 16 together (Little Thinkers)
• Point to and count the things that begin with /e/
• Say the number out loud as a class
• Give a clap for every thing found
