Revision Objectives

• Recognise the letter "b" and say its sound /b/
• Recall the words boy, banana, basket, bee and bus
• Repeat the sentence "The boy is eating a banana."
• Trace the letter "b" with the correct stroke

Revision Activity 1: Bubble Pop

Time: 5 minutes

• Blow a stream of bubbles across the room
• Learners chase and pop them, saying /b/ at every pop
• When the bubbles stop, everyone freezes and says "b!"

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 6 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: boy, banana, basket, bee, bus
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Add the actions: buzz for bee, drive for bus, peel for banana

Revision Activity 3: Banana Sentence Mime

Time: 5 minutes

• Pretend to peel and eat a banana
• Say "The boy is eating a banana."
• Learners copy the mime and repeat the sentence
• Let a boy volunteer do the mime while the class says the sentence

Revision Activity 4: Playdough Banana

Time: 5 minutes

• Give out yellow playdough
• Each learner rolls a long snake and curves it into a banana
• Ask: "What sound does banana start with?" Learners say /b/

Revision Activity 5: Air, Finger and Pencil Tracing

Time: 8 minutes

• Draw a big "b" in the air: start at the top, straight down, back up a little, round the tummy
• Learners trace "b" with a finger on the big pink "b" on page 7
• Trace one dotted row of "b" on a fresh sheet with a pencil
• Check that every learner starts at the top with the tall line

Revision Activity 6: Book Bag Count

Time: 3 minutes

• Tip out two or three book bags
• Count the books in each one together
• Say whose bag holds the most
