Hello, little friends! Welcome back. Today we are going to meet a very special letter. It is the letter x.

Look at the letter x. It looks like two sticks crossing each other. Can you make an x with your arms? Cross your arms over your chest. That is an x!

Let us say its name together. x. x. x. Great!

The letter x likes to hide at the end of words. Listen to the word box. Bo... /ks/. Box. Can you hear /ks/ at the end? Say it with me. /ks/, /ks/, /ks/. Well done!

Now let us look at a big picture. We are in a happy doctor's clinic. There is a kind doctor wearing glasses, and there is a little boy called Ahmed.

The doctor is pointing at a screen. On the screen we can see bones. This is an x-ray. An x-ray helps the doctor see inside the body. Say it with me: x-ray.

Ahmed is holding two sticks. He is tapping colourful bars. Ding, ding, ding! This is a xylophone. Say it with me: xy-lo-phone. Xylophone.

Let us listen to what the picture says. Ahmed is playing the xylophone and watching the x-ray.

Now let us look at three more pictures.

Here is a xerus. A xerus is a small furry animal. It looks like a squirrel, with a big fluffy tail. Xerus.

Here is a Xebec. A Xebec is an old ship with big sails. It sails on the water. Xebec.

And here is our xylophone again, with lots of colourful bars. Xylophone.

Let us say them all together. Xerus. Xebec. Xylophone. Very good!

Let us play a game. Every time you hear the letter x, cross your arms and make an x!

x-ray. Cross! Xylophone. Cross! Xerus. Cross! Xebec. Cross! You are super listeners.

Now, let us count the bars on a xylophone together. Point to each bar and count with me. One, two, three, and keep going to the end. So many colours!

Now it is time to write the letter x. First, let us draw it in the air with our finger.

Put your finger up high, on the left side. Slide it down, slanting all the way to the bottom on the right side. Lift your finger.

Now put your finger up high on the right side. Slide it down, slanting all the way to the bottom on the left side. The two lines cross in the middle.

That is the letter x! Let us do it again. Slide down. Lift. Slide down. Brilliant!

When you trace x in your book, start at the little red dot. Hold your pencil gently, like a little bird's beak pinching it. Slide down one way, lift, and slide down the other way.

Take your time. Follow the dots. If you go off the line, that is okay. Just try again.

After you trace, you can colour the xylophone. Give every bar a different colour. Start on the left and go all the way to the right.

Let us remember what we learned today.
