Hello, little friends! Welcome back to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter d!

Look at this big yellow letter. This is d. Can you say it with me? d!

The letter d makes a sound. Tap your tongue behind your top teeth. d, d, d. It sounds like a little drum. d, d, d. Very good!

Now look at the picture. There is a lovely green garden with flowers and a little stream. Two friends are on the path.

Here is a yellow duck. Can you say duck? Duck! Duck starts with d. d, d, duck. The duck says quack, quack!

And here is a brown and white dog. Say dog. Dog! Dog starts with d too. d, d, dog. The dog says woof, woof!

Listen to this. The dog and the duck are playing in the garden. Say it with me. The dog and the duck are playing in the garden. Wonderful!

The dog and the duck are good friends. They are having so much fun.

Did you know that a baby duck has a special name? A baby duck is called a duckling. Say duckling. Duckling!

Now let us look at some more pictures. These words also begin with the letter d.

Here is a dolphin. It is blue and it jumps and swims in the sea. Say dolphin. Dolphin!

Here is a drum. We bang it to make music. Bang, bang! Say drum. Drum!

And here is a doll. She has long hair and a pretty dress. Say doll. Doll!

Let us say all our d words together. Duck. Dog. Dolphin. Drum. Doll. Great job!

Can you bark like a dog? Woof! Can you quack like a duck? Quack! Well done!

Now it is time to trace the letter d. Hold up your finger. Let us draw d in the air.

First, make a little round shape, going round to the left like a ball. Now go up, up, up, all the way to the top. Then draw a tall line straight down. That is the letter d!

Let us do it again. Round like a ball. Up to the top. Straight down. d!

One more time, nice and slow. Round, up, and down. Well done!

Remember, d has the round part first, and then the tall line.

When you trace d in your book, always start at the red dot. Go slowly and carefully.

After tracing, you can colour the big letter d in your book. And you can make the duck yellow with lots of little paint dots.
