Revision Objectives
By the end of revision, students should be confident in:
- Naming three key inventions and their facts (wheel, printing press, bulb)
- Using vocabulary words with correct syllable division
- Reading words with initial and final consonant clusters
- Identifying adjectives in sentences
- Forming irregular plural nouns
- Using the five magic words in daily conversation
Revision Activity 1: Invention Facts Quiz (10 minutes)
Type: Oral quiz, whole class

Revision Activity 2: Vocabulary Syllable Clap (10 minutes)
Type: Whole class, oral
- Teacher says a word; students clap the syllables and state the count.
- invention (3: in-vent-ion)
- ancient (2: an-cient)
- credit (2: cred-it)
- labour (2: la-bour)
- source (1: source)
- Students also state the meaning of each word.
Revision Activity 3: Consonant Cluster Word Race (10 minutes)
Type: Team competition
- Teacher writes a consonant cluster on the board.
- Teams race to write 3 words with that cluster.
- Clusters to practise:
- Initial: st, fr, gr, sn
- Final: st, nd, sk, nk
Sample answers:
- st (initial): stair, store, steel, stool
- fr: friend, free, frost
- nd (final): sand, land, send, find
- nk: sink, thank, tank, think
Revision Activity 4: Irregular Plurals Memory Game (10 minutes)
Type: Pair activity
- Create cards with singular on one side, plural on the other:
- man/men, woman/women, person/people, tooth/teeth, child/children, mouse/mice, ox/oxen, goose/geese, foot/feet, leaf/leaves, sheep/sheep
- Spread singular cards face up. Students take turns saying the plural form.
- Flip to check.
Revision Activity 5: Magic Words Scenarios (10 minutes)
Type: Role-play
Students act out scenarios using magic words:
- You accidentally step on someone's foot. → "Sorry" / "Excuse me"
- Someone gives you a present. → "Thank you"
- You need to borrow a pencil from a friend. → "Please"
- Someone says "Thank you" to you. → "You're welcome"
- You need to pass through a crowd. → "Excuse me"
Revision Activity 6: Adjective Hunt (5 minutes)
Type: Written
Find and underline the adjective in each sentence:
- The old man crossed the road.
- She has a beautiful garden.
- There is a round table in the room.
- I have a big bag.
- The pink flower is lovely.
