Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. We are going to learn about different professions.

We live together in a community. Different people do different jobs. We cannot do all the jobs ourselves. We need each other. Let us learn about some important professions.

Farmers grow crops. They provide us food, vegetables, and fruits. Without farmers, we would not have food to eat. Farmers work very hard in the fields.

Cobblers make and repair our shoes. They work honestly. When our shoes are broken, cobblers fix them for us.

Doctors work in hospitals. They treat sick people and give them medicine. When we are not feeling well, we go to the doctor.

Teachers teach students with love and care. They help students in their studies. Teachers are very important because they help us learn new things every day.

Dress designers make beautiful dresses for men, women, and children. They create clothes that we wear every day.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A doctor? A teacher? A farmer? All professions are important because we all help each other.

Now let us learn about consonant blends. A consonant blend is when two consonant letters come together and both sounds are heard. For example: in the word "flag," the letters F and L are blended together -- /fl/. In "star," S and T blend together -- /st/. In "skip," S and K blend together -- /sk/. Can you hear both sounds? Flag. Star. Skip.

Let us also learn about masculine and feminine words. Masculine words are for males: boy, father, brother, king, uncle. Feminine words are for females: girl, mother, sister, queen, aunt. Boy and girl are a pair. Father and mother are a pair. Brother and sister are a pair.

Now let us learn three new vocabulary words. "Repair" means to mend or fix something. "Treat" means to deal with someone, like when a doctor treats a patient. "Provide" means to supply or give something.

Let us review what we learned today. We learned about five professions: farmer, cobbler, doctor, teacher, and dress designer. Each profession is important and we all need each other. We learned about consonant blends like /fl/, /st/, and /sk/. We learned masculine and feminine word pairs. And we learned three vocabulary words: repair, treat, and provide.
