Video Script -- Unit 5
Let's Make Friends
Subject: English | Class: 1 | Series: Leeds (SNC 2020)
Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. We are going to learn about making friends and sharing.
Let me tell you a story about two friends, Ali and Asad. Ali and Asad live next to each other. Ali always shares his toys with Asad, but Asad never shares his things with Ali.
One day, Asad's uncle gifted him a beautiful chargeable train on his birthday. Asad was very happy. He played with it every evening in the lawn. Ali also wanted to play with the train, but Asad never invited him.
One evening, Asad lost his train in the lawn. He searched everywhere but could not find it. He was very sad. Ali told him to look for it together in the lawn. They both went and found the train under the bushes!
When Asad came home, his mother said, "See how Ali helped you. He shares everything with you. Sharing is caring." Asad realised his mistake. He thanked Ali for helping him. After that, Asad always shared his things with Ali.
The lesson from this story is that sharing is caring. Good friends share with each other and help each other.
Now let us learn about action words. Action words tell us what someone is doing. Play means to have fun. Read means to look at words in a book. Sit means to rest on a chair. Write means to put words on paper. Drink means to take liquid into your mouth. Can you act out these words? Play! Read! Sit! Write! Drink!
Let us also learn about the words "this" and "these." We use "this" when we talk about one thing near us. For example: This is my book. This is my bag. We use "these" when we talk about many things near us. For example: These are bananas. These are pencils. Remember: this is for one, these is for many.
There is one more important thing to learn today: stranger safety. A stranger is a person you do not know. Remember these rules: Do not speak to a stranger. Do not give any response. Do not take any things from a stranger. Always tell your parents if a stranger tries to talk to you.
Let us review what we learned. We read the story of Ali and Asad and learned that sharing is caring. We learned action words like play, read, sit, write, and drink. We learned to use "this" for one thing and "these" for many things. And we learned important stranger safety rules.
Great job, everyone! See you next time!
