Three Little Cubs

Subject: English | Class: 1 | Series: Leeds (SNC 2020)

Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. We are going to read a fun story about three little cubs.

Once upon a time, there were three little cubs named Sonu, Monu, and Gonu. Sonu lived in a house of straw. Monu lived in a house of sticks. And Gonu lived in a house of bricks.

One day, a big bad wolf came to Sonu's house. He said, "I will huff and puff and I will blow your house down!" So he huffed and he puffed and he blew the straw house down. Sonu ran to Monu's house.

Then the wolf came to Monu's house. He said, "I will huff and puff and I will blow your house down!" So he huffed and he puffed and he blew the stick house down too. Sonu and Monu ran to Gonu's house.

The wolf came to Gonu's house. He said, "I will huff and puff and I will blow your house down!" So he huffed and he puffed, but he could not blow the brick house down! It was very strong. The wolf went away. And Sonu, Monu, and Gonu lived happily together in the red brick house.

What did we learn from this story? We learned that we should help each other in times of need. Gonu helped Sonu and Monu by sharing his strong house with them. Sharing is caring!

Now let us learn about singular and plural nouns. A singular noun means one thing. For example: one boy, one cow, one house, one table. A plural noun means more than one thing. For example: two boys, three cows, four houses, five tables. We usually add the letter "s" at the end to make a word plural. Boy becomes boys. Star becomes stars.

Let us also learn number words. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Can you count with me? One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Now try to spell them: O-N-E is one. T-W-O is two. T-H-R-E-E is three.

Let us review what we learned today. We read the story of three little cubs and a big bad wolf. The brick house was the strongest. We should help and share with each other. A singular noun means one thing and a plural noun means more than one. We also learned number words from one to ten.

Well done, everyone! See you next time!
