Hello, little friends! Are you ready to play and learn? Today we are going to meet a brand new letter. It is the letter n!

Look at the letter n. It looks like a little hill, or a tiny bridge. Can you say its name with me? n. Very good!

Now let us learn the sound that n makes. The letter n says /n/. Put your tongue at the top of your mouth and hum. /n/, /n/, /n/. Can you feel your nose tickle? That is the n sound!

Let us say it together one more time. n says /n/. Wonderful!

Now let us look at a lovely picture. There is a kind uncle sitting in a big, comfy chair. He is wearing his glasses. What is he holding in his hands? He is holding a newspaper!

Say it with me. Newspaper. Nnn-newspaper. Newspaper starts with the /n/ sound.

Look at the little table in front of Uncle. There is a bowl. What is in the bowl? Nuts! Say it with me. Nuts. Nnn-nuts. Nuts starts with /n/ too.

Uncle is saying something. Let us listen. Uncle is reading newspaper and eating nuts. Can you say it with me? Uncle is reading newspaper and eating nuts. Well done!

Let us pretend to be Uncle. Open your big newspaper. Now pick up a nut and pretend to eat it. Yum, yum!

Now we have more n words to learn. Are you ready?

Look at this plate. It is full of long, wiggly noodles. Say noodles. Nnn-noodles. Noodles starts with /n/.

Here is a friendly nurse. She is waving hello. A nurse helps us when we feel sick. Say nurse. Nnn-nurse. Nurse starts with /n/.

And here is a blue notebook. Say notebook. Nnn-notebook. Notebook starts with /n/.

Let us say all our n words together. Newspaper. Nuts. Noodles. Nurse. Notebook. Great job!

Now let us learn how to write the letter n. Hold up your pointing finger. We are going to draw n in the air.

Start at the top. Go straight down. Now go back up the same line. Make a little hill over to the side, and come down again. Down, up, over the hill, down. That is n!

Let us do it again, nice and slowly. Start at the top. Down. Back up. Over the hill. And down. Beautiful!

Can you draw n on your hand? Start at the top. Down, up, over the hill, down. You are so clever!

In your book, you will see little red dots. Always start your n at the red dot. Then go down, up, over the hill, and down.

Now let us find the n sound in our faces. Touch your nose. Nose starts with /n/ too. Nnn-nose!
