Classroom Rules

Revision Objectives
- Retell the story of Ali's first day at school.
- Name and explain the five classroom rules.
- Recall vocabulary meanings (queue, greet, permission).
- Identify initial and final sounds of words.
- Name all twelve body parts from the lesson.
- Match pictures with their initial letter sounds.
Activity 1: Story Sequencing (10 minutes)
Focus: Reading comprehension
Write these events on strips of paper (or on the board in random order). Students arrange them in the correct order:
- Ali was waiting for his turn at the canteen.
- Ali met Asif at the canteen.
- Ali and Asif greeted each other.
- Break was over. They went to the classroom.
- Miss Alia asked students to introduce themselves and explain classroom rules.
- Students explained the rules one by one.
- Miss Alia showed Ali the rules chart on the wall.
Activity 2: Rules Poster (10 minutes)
Focus: Classroom rules
- Divide students into five groups.
- Each group gets one classroom rule to illustrate.
- They draw a picture and write the rule below it.
- Display all five posters on the wall.
The five rules:
- Follow your teacher's directions.
- Share your things with others.
- Seek permission to go in or out of the classroom.
- Raise your hand to get permission before asking anything.
- Wait for your turn.
Activity 3: Vocabulary Charades (5 minutes)
Focus: Word meanings
- A student acts out one of the vocabulary words (no speaking allowed).
- Class guesses the word.
- queue: Student stands in a line.
- greet: Student waves or shakes hands.
- permission: Student raises hand as if asking permission.
Activity 4: Sound Snap (10 minutes)
Focus: Initial and final sounds
- Teacher says a word aloud.
- Students write the initial sound on the left side of their notebook and the final sound on the right side.
- Words: fat, mug, hot, car, bring, help, melt, hold, weld, main.
- Check answers together after each round.
Activity 5: Body Parts Touch Game (10 minutes)
Focus: Body parts
- "Simon Says" game — Teacher calls out body parts. Students touch them only when "Simon says" is used.
- Body parts: head, eyebrow, eye, nose, ear, lip, arm, mouth, hand, tongue, leg, foot.
- After the game, students draw a simple stick figure and label six body parts.
Activity 6: Picture-Sound Match (5 minutes)
Focus: Matching pictures with initial sounds
Teacher shows or draws three items (e.g., ball, cat, door). Students write the initial letter sound of each item.
Then reverse: Teacher says a letter sound. Students name an object that starts with that sound.
Activity 7: Role-Play — First Day Greeting (5 minutes)
Focus: Oral communication
Students pair up and role-play being new classmates meeting for the first time. They should:
- Greet each other (Assalam-o-Alaikum / Wa Alaikum Assalam).
- Introduce themselves (name and class).
- Say something nice ("Nice to meet you").
