Hello children! Welcome to today's lesson. We are going to learn about the four seasons.

There are four seasons in a year: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Let us read a beautiful poem about them.

"Here we go round the year again, To greet the different seasons."

"Wintertime is time for snow. It's too cold for plants to grow." In winter, the weather is very cold. It snows. Plants cannot grow because it is too cold.

"In the springtime days get warm. On the plants, the new buds form." In spring, the weather gets warm. New buds grow on plants. Flowers begin to bloom. It is a beautiful season.

"In the summertime, days are hot. Ice-cold drinks, I drink a lot." In summer, the days are very hot. We drink lots of cold drinks and ice water to stay cool.

"Autumn is here, the air is cool. Days are short, it's back to school." In autumn, the air becomes cool. The days get shorter. Leaves fall from trees. And it is time to go back to school!

Now let us learn some colours. Look at a rainbow. It has many colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white. Can you name them? Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Black. White. Look around your classroom. What colours do you see?

Let us learn about sizes too. Some things are big and some things are small. An elephant is big. A rabbit is small. Some things are long and some things are short. A ruler is long. An eraser is short.

Now let us learn about the words "that" and "those." We use "that" for one thing that is far from us. For example: That is our home. That is a tree. We use "those" for many things that are far from us. For example: Those are balloons. Those are bananas. Remember: "this" and "these" are for things near us. "That" and "those" are for things far from us.

Let us also talk about rhyming words. Rhyming words are words that sound the same at the end. Tap, cap, and map all rhyme. Bun, fun, and run all rhyme. Pen, ben, and ten all rhyme. We can make new words by changing just the first letter!

Let us review what we learned today. There are four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. We learned seven colours. We learned about sizes: big, small, long, short. We learned to use "that" for one far thing and "those" for many far things. And we practised rhyming words.
