Revision Objectives
- Reinforce the seasons poem and seasonal vocabulary
- Strengthen colour and size identification
- Practise using "that" and "those"
- Review rhyming words and naming/action word distinction
Revision Activity 1: Seasons Poem Performance
Time: 8 minutes
- Divide class into 4 groups; each group gets one season stanza
- Groups recite their stanza with actions:
- Winter: shiver, wrap arms
- Spring: pretend to bloom like a flower
- Summer: fan yourself, pretend to drink
- Autumn: pretend leaves are falling, wave goodbye
Revision Activity 2: Colour Hunt
Time: 8 minutes
- Call out a colour; students find an object of that colour in the classroom
- Colours: yellow, blue, black, green, orange, red, white
- Students say: "This is a ___ [colour] [object]." (e.g., "This is a green book.")
Revision Activity 3: This/These vs. That/Those Review
Time: 7 minutes
- Place objects on two tables: one near, one far
- Point to near objects: "This is a pen" / "These are pencils"
- Point to far objects: "That is a bag" / "Those are books"
- Students practise with different objects
Revision Activity 4: Rhyming Word Match
Time: 7 minutes
- Write words on the board; students find rhyming pairs:
- tap - cap - map
- bun - fun - run
- pen - ben - ten
- cat - bat - hat
- Students suggest new rhyming words for each group
Revision Activity 5: Big, Small, Long, Short
Time: 5 minutes
- Show pairs of objects/pictures:
- Big elephant vs. small rabbit
- Long pencil vs. short pencil
- Students say the correct size word for each
Revision Activity 6: Naming vs. Action Words
Time: 5 minutes
- Teacher says a word; students say "naming word" or "action word":
- ball (naming), run (action), tree (naming), read (action), flower (naming), swim (action), cat (naming), write (action)
Key Points to Remember
- Four seasons: Winter (cold, snow), Spring (warm, buds), Summer (hot, cold drinks), Autumn (cool, back to school)
- Seven colours: yellow, blue, black, green, orange, red, white
- "That" = one thing far away; "Those" = many things far away
- Rhyming words share the same ending sound: tap-cap-map
- Sizes: big, small, long, short
- Naming words = nouns (ball, tree); Action words = verbs (run, read)
