Say each word aloud. The child claps if the word begins with /w/.

(Add one word from an earlier letter so the child can practise not clapping.)

Exercise D: Match the Picture

Draw the pictures below, or cut them from the textbook copy. Help the child draw a line from each word to its picture.

Exercise E: Colour the Watermelon

Draw a big watermelon slice in the space below. The child colours it:

• the outside green
