Revision Objectives
By the end of revision, students should be confident in:
- Reciting the sports poem and answering comprehension questions
- Arranging words in alphabetical order using first and second letters
- Using prepositions to describe position
- Applying capitalization and punctuation rules correctly
- Completing a gapped summary
Revision Activity 1: Poem Recitation and Quiz (10 minutes)
- Recite the poem together.
- Quick quiz: Name rhyming pairs, sports mentioned, what do you do in each sport.
Revision Activity 2: Alphabetical Order Race (10 minutes)
Type: Pair activity
- Give pairs word sets to arrange:
- Set 1 (first letter): run, ball, game, play
- Set 2 (second letter): bat, ball, bus, bell
- Set 3 (second letter): plan, print, pack, push
Revision Activity 3: Preposition Practice (10 minutes)
- Place objects around the classroom in different positions.
- Students describe using prepositions: on, in, under, beside, above, behind, between.
- Write 5 sentences using prepositions.
Revision Activity 4: Fix the Sentences (10 minutes)
Students correct capitalization and punctuation:
- "sara went to school on monday" → "Sara went to school on Monday."
- "wow what a beautiful day" → "Wow! What a beautiful day!"
- "the childs toy is broken" → "The child's toy is broken."
- "river chenab flows through pakistan" → "The River Chenab flows through Pakistan."
- "we celebrate eid in june" → "We celebrate Eid in June."
Revision Activity 5: Vocabulary Review (5 minutes)
- turn off — switch off
- choose — select, pick
- around — on all sides
Students use each in a sentence.
