Revision Objectives
- Reinforce the story of Asad and his family
- Strengthen vowel and consonant identification
- Review body parts vocabulary
- Practise distinguishing common nouns from proper nouns
- Build confidence in blending CVC words and self-introduction
Revision Activity 1: Family Story Recall
Time: 8 minutes
- Ask students to answer True or False:
- Asad is seven years old. (False -- six)
- Asad has one brother and one sister. (True)
- Asad comes back from school at two o'clock. (False -- one o'clock)
- Asad's mother guides him with homework. (True)
- Asad's grandfather tells bedtime stories. (False -- grandmother)
Revision Activity 2: Vowel Hunt
Time: 7 minutes
- Write 10 words on the board: cat, pen, sit, dog, cup, hat, net, big, pot, fun
- Students come up and circle the vowels in each word
- Count how many vowels each word has
- Remind: vowels are a, e, i, o, u
Revision Activity 3: Body Parts Simon Says
Time: 8 minutes
- Play "Simon Says" using body parts vocabulary:
- "Simon says touch your nose"
- "Simon says point to your forehead"
- "Simon says wiggle your fingers"
- "Simon says stomp your foot"
- If teacher does not say "Simon says," students should not move
Revision Activity 4: Common vs. Proper Nouns Sorting
Time: 7 minutes
- Write words on the board: boy, Ayesha, city, Karachi, cat, Rex, school, Pakistan
- Draw two columns: Common Noun / Proper Noun
- Students come to the board and write each word in the correct column
- Remind: proper nouns are specific names and start with a capital letter
Revision Activity 5: CVC Word Blending Race
Time: 5 minutes
- Show letter cards one at a time: p-i-n, r-a-t, b-i-n, t-u-b, c-o-t, h-e-n
- Students race to blend the sounds and say the word
- Add new CVC words: c-a-t, d-o-g, s-u-n, m-a-p
Revision Activity 6: Self-Introduction Practice
Time: 5 minutes
- Each student stands and says:
- "My name is ___. I am ___ years old. I have ___ brother(s) and ___ sister(s). I like to play ___."
- Encourage use of complete sentences
Key Points to Remember
- The five vowels are: a, e, i, o, u. All other letters are consonants.
- Body parts: eye, mouth, nose, neck, forehead, hand, finger, leg, foot, toes
- Common nouns are general names (boy, city, cat); proper nouns are specific names (Ayesha, Karachi, Rex)
- CVC words are three-letter words with consonant-vowel-consonant pattern: pin, rat, bin, tub, cot, hen
