Story Summary:
- A farmer lived in a village. He worked hard every day — ploughing fields in the morning and pulling weeds in the evening.
- He planted seeds before monsoon and prayed to Allah for a good crop.
- The monsoon did not come. Other villagers gave up hope and cursed their luck.
- The farmer did NOT give up. He carried buckets of water from the well to the field himself.
- Villagers laughed at him, but he kept working.
- After a few weeks, green shoots appeared. His patience and hard work were rewarded.
- Moral: Keep patience because it always pays.
Activity: Teacher gives sentences from the story in jumbled order. Students number them 1–6 in the correct sequence.

Diphthongs
A diphthong is a blend of two vowel sounds in a single syllable.

Action Verbs
An action verb describes an action: write, pray, eat, sing, run.
Quick Practice: Students act out a verb, classmates guess which action verb it is.
Prepositions of Position
Prepositions tell us position: under, behind, in front of, next to, between, around.
Quick Practice: Place a book in different positions relative to a desk. Students say the correct preposition:
- "The book is under the desk."
- "The book is behind the desk."
- "The book is in front of the desk."
Capitalisation Review (5 minutes)
Rules:
- First letter of the first word in a sentence is always capital.
- Names of people are capitalised (Aden, Hashir, Hania).
- Names of places are capitalised (Lahore, Pakistan, Asia).
- "I" is always capitalised.
Fix These Sentences:
- i was born in lahore. → I was born in Lahore.
- pakistan is located in asia. → Pakistan is located in Asia.
- aden urged us to forget their former differences. → Aden urged us to forget their former differences.
Oral Communication Review (5 minutes)
Expressing Likes and Dislikes:
- Likes: "I want to eat...", "I like...", "I enjoy..."
- Dislikes: "I dislike...", "I don't like...", "I prefer... instead of..."
Quick Pair Activity: Each student tells their partner one food they like and one they dislike, using complete sentences.
