Revision Objectives
By the end of revision, students should be confident in:
- Recalling facts about ants (body, home, food, habits)
- Describing insects using guided questions
- Reciting the poem "Can you move with me?" with actions
- Using strong and weak forms of have/has
- Writing and reading contractions
- Writing insect riddles and invitations
Revision Activity 1: Ant Facts Mind Map (10 minutes)
Type: Written and visual
- Draw a mind map on the board with "ANTS" in the centre.
- Four branches: Body, Home, Food, Habits.
- Students copy and fill in each branch:
- Body: 6 legs, 2 antennae, hard shell, small
- Home: Underground, small holes, dry and clean, build rooms for kids
- Food: Small leaves, sweet fruits, use antennae to smell, leave a trail
- Habits: Hardworking, collect food in summer, live underground in winter, disciplined, move in queue, work in teams
Revision Activity 2: Insect Description Game (10 minutes)
Type: Oral, pair activity
- Student A thinks of an insect and gives clues (colour, legs, wings, habitat, food).
- Student B guesses the insect.
- Swap roles.
- Insects to use: caterpillar, spider, ant, butterfly, bee, beetle.
Revision Activity 3: Poem Performance (10 minutes)
Type: Whole class
- Recite "Can you move with me?" all together with actions.
- Each row takes one stanza and performs with actions.
- Individual volunteers perform the full poem.
Revision Activity 4: Contraction Conversion (10 minutes)
Type: Written
Convert each sentence to its contraction form:
- I have finished my homework. → ___________________________
- She has not eaten lunch. → ___________________________
- They have gone to the park. → ___________________________
- He has not returned the book. → ___________________________
- We have seen that movie. → ___________________________
Answer Key:
- I've finished my homework.
- She hasn't eaten lunch.
- They've gone to the park.
- He hasn't returned the book.
- We've seen that movie.
Now convert back to full form:
- You've done well. → ___________________________
- It hasn't rained today. → ___________________________
Revision Activity 5: Strong and Weak Forms Practice (10 minutes)
Type: Pair activity
- Students ask each other questions and practise answering:
- "Have you ever seen an elephant?" → "Yes, I have." / "No, I haven't."
- "Has your friend come today?" → "Yes, she has." / "No, she hasn't."
- "Have they finished the test?" → "Yes, they have." / "No, they haven't."
- Pairs create 3 more questions and practise.
Revision Activity 6: Syllable Matching Review (5 minutes)
Type: Written
Match Column A with Column B to make complete words:
