Revision Objectives
By the end of revision, students should be confident in:
- Explaining the significance and customs of Eid-ul-Adha
- Using vocabulary words (gratitude, joyous, sacrifice) correctly
- Identifying and forming words with initial and final consonant clusters
- Recognizing and using adjectives of size, quality, quantity, age, shape, and colour
- Writing sentences to describe pictures in sequence
Revision Activity 1: Eid-ul-Adha Quiz (10 minutes)
Type: Oral quiz, whole class
Ask the following questions and let students answer:
- When is Eid-ul-Adha celebrated? (10th of Zilhaj)
- Whose sacrifice does Eid-ul-Adha honour? (Hazrat Ibrahim AS and Hazrat Ismail AS)
- What did Allah send in place of Hazrat Ismail (AS)? (a lamb)
- Which animals can be sacrificed? (goat, cow, camel)
- How is the meat distributed? (three equal parts: poor, relatives/friends, family)
- Where is Eid prayer offered? (Eidgaah)
- What do people eat in the morning before Eid prayer? (sweet vermicelli or dates)
- What do people wear on Eid day? (new clothes)
Revision Activity 2: Consonant Cluster Word Race (10 minutes)
Type: Team competition
- Divide class into teams.
- Teacher writes a consonant cluster on the board (e.g., "cr").
- Teams have 30 seconds to write as many words as possible starting or ending with that cluster.
- Rotate through clusters: cr, fl, pl, sl, cl, sk (initial) and st, ld, rn, ft, nk, rl (final).
- Team with the most correct words wins.
Sample answers:
- cr: crab, crow, cry, cream, cross
- fl: flat, flip, flute, fly, flag
- st: nest, fast, last, best, rest
- ld: gold, cold, fold, hold, bold
Revision Activity 3: Adjective Scavenger Hunt (10 minutes)
Type: Pair activity
- Students look around the classroom and describe 5 objects using adjectives.
- They must use at least 3 different types of adjectives (size, colour, shape, quality, quantity, age).
- Write their findings in a table:
