Revision Objectives
- Recite the poem about professions.
- Name professions and describe what each professional does.
- Recall vocabulary meanings (paint, merchant, pleasant).
- Classify words as naming, action, or describing words.
- Choose the correct objective personal pronoun.
- Apply capitalisation and punctuation rules correctly.
- Write sentences and a paragraph with correct punctuation.
Activity 1: Profession Guessing Game (10 minutes)
Focus: Reading comprehension — professions
Teacher describes a job without naming it. Students guess the profession.
- "I write books and stories." → Writer
- "I paint beautiful pictures." → Painter
- "I heal sick people." → Doctor
- "I argue cases in court." → Lawyer
- "I fly aeroplanes over the hills." → Pilot
- "I teach children in school." → Teacher
- "I drive a car or bus." → Driver
- "I act in plays and movies." → Actor
- "I grow food for everyone." → Farmer
- "I buy and sell goods." → Merchant
Then students take turns describing a profession for the class to guess.
Activity 2: Vocabulary in Context (5 minutes)
Focus: Word meanings
Students use each word in a sentence:
- paint — "The painter paints the wall."
- merchant — "The merchant sells fruits in the market."
- pleasant — "It is a pleasant day."
Activity 3: Word Sorting (10 minutes)
Focus: Naming, action, and describing words
Write these words on the board. Students sort them into three columns.
Words: teacher, run, tall, cat, write, beautiful, river, dance, small, pilot, sing, red

Activity 4: Pronoun Choice (5 minutes)
Focus: Objective personal pronouns
Teacher reads a sentence with two choices. Students call out the correct one.
- I gave (he / him) a book.
- She called (we / us) to the party.
- They invited (I / me) to dinner.
- He told (she / her) a story.
- We thanked (they / them) for the help.
Activity 5: Punctuation Fix-Up (10 minutes)
Focus: Capitalisation and punctuation
Write sentences on the board without capitalisation or punctuation. Students rewrite them correctly.
- ali is a good boy → Ali is a good boy.
- what is your name → What is your name?
- wow what a beautiful flower → Wow! What a beautiful flower!
- i need a pen a pencil and an eraser → I need a pen, a pencil and an eraser.
- the sun rises in the east → The sun rises in the east.
Discuss which punctuation mark was used and why.
Activity 6: Poem Recitation (5 minutes)
Focus: Reading and memorisation
Students recite the poem individually or in small groups. Encourage reciting from memory. The class gives a round of applause for each performer.
Activity 7: My Future Job (5 minutes)
Focus: Speaking and writing
Each student says or writes: "When I grow up, I want to be a ___ because ___."
Share with the class.
